Coastal Retreat ...

I have so missed my little blog. Although I have 'more' missed visiting all YOUR blogs. I love seeing what everyone else finds interesting, exciting .. share worthy.

It has been an ultra busy week in so many ways. Good, bad and just downright tedious. So tonight I googled 'luxury beach house accommodation' to see what treasures I could find - and I think I have found gold with this Tassie wonder. It's called the AVALON COASTAL RETREAT and is the winner of so many awards since it opened in 2005 - the most recent being the '2009 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards - Deluxe Accommodation' - so maybe you have seen it before. But, just in case, here it is in all its glory.

At $900 a night I really don't think it is too expensive. Sure, I don't think I could afford to stay a week or 10 - but for such a beautiful home in a beautiful location - I think it is really well priced. Your own private beach. Stunning architecture. Even more stunning views. They even supply backpacks, wetsuits, snuggly robes and slippers - and how's this for a massive claim .. 'The Best Cow Couch In The World'. Hmmm.

(note: I have absolutely no idea what a cow couch is, but heh, if they say it's the best, who am I to argue)

Went for a drive (aka got lost) yesterday and got a few glimpses of some gorgeous homes along the coast down this way. SIGH.

  7. This place looks like something totally out of the box in terms of a unique holiday. Imagine waking up in that bedroom with those views!

I LOVE tassie ~ we stayed at the glorious Cradle Mountain Lodge a couple of winters ago ~ worth every penny because it too was a unique spot. Must go back, methinks...

And yes, I have indeed specified 3 macrame lights for 3 separate projects. {The lights are all different though.} Very busy at the moment ~ but that is just how I like it coz it keeps the design adrenaline pumping!
