my OEKE linked outdoor cushion (strategically placed of course)

see those slatted panels - they are on slides
so we can move to wherever the sun is for shade

it's not painted yet, and the ceiling needs plaster sheet
On the weekend we finally got time to plant around our outdoor room. We are getting there, it's not stained or painted yet .. there is only the old outdoor table & chairs (freedom 2005) and the ceiling is yet to be plastered up.
The back wall (behind the pool) will eventually be a nice stone wall - and we will plant some small plants in front of it - probably hebe's - I LOVE hebes.
We sat out here again last night for dinner. I didn't bbq - but cooked in the house and bought it out on a tray. It feels like we are on holidays in our own backyard. Love to hear what you all think!!

Hey it looks great! Love the sliding panels.. that is a brilliant idea. And yes, there is something relaxing about eating outdoors. :)

looks fab - very enticing :) love a great outdoor area - will you do the stone work ? best le xox
ReplyDeleteOh, my, Linda - you lucky duck. It all looks amazing. J x
ReplyDeletethat looks brilliant linda, bet you're loving yourself sick in that baby! xx
ReplyDeletelooks like a fabulous addition & the perfect spot to relax in summer. i quite like the roof being exposed like it is so you can see the beams and underside of the corrugated steel roofing. maybe if you just painted the exposed beams a dark colour?? i'm sure it will look great however you finish it off. i also love the sliding screens.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone. Especially for your nice comments.
ReplyDeleteJacinta - I agree, very relaxing eating outside. Even with the mozzies.
Le - the Mr is still undecided re: doing the stonework or getting someone to do - hence, it sits as is. No real rush.
Jane - yes, we do feel like lucky-ducks.
Jules - loving myself sick - oh what a ripper of a comment. Yes, we are. Fully sick!!!
And KK - I want to put a charcoal grey somewhere - prob on the uprights - will have a good think about your suggestions - especially as you are a professional and me (us) just doityourselfers!!
Thanks everyone - makes me blush (-:
What a perfect outdoor space! I'd spend all day out there :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday Darling! xo

Hi Linda - looks amazing. I agree with captain kk - don't line that fabulous structure with boring out flat sheets of cement sheeting. If you want the charcoal, maybe paint the rafters and the posts in a deep, sludgey charcoal grey, which will set off the silver grey of the zincalume elegantly. Then, to make it jump, paint the fascias in a contrast colour - either a chalky white or a richer colour {but still in an earthy tone}, perhaps to pick up on the green of the hebes. Sliding screens are a great solution.
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous right now - hot as hell here. Your cushion looks spectacular by the way...

hey hey.. your outdoor pavilion just popped into my head.. i think the whole lot would look awesome if you painted it all a dark colour.. the posts, beams, rafters, eaves lining, fascias.. the lot! (but leave the decking floor as is). i think it would look great against the green garden & would be a little bit different :)
ReplyDeleteHeh KK. I like the sound of it. What about the sliding screens? I don't think the Mr will want to paint them (there are 4 and he has already stained one - you can't see it in these pics)?
ReplyDeleteI actually think it will look better in charcoal - too much of 'sameness' if I paint it the natural/white colour - as it will be same as studio, house (eventually) and garage. Hmmm .. where do you live - you should come consult for me (-:
Wow, what a stunning place! I can imagine you enjoy it at home!
