WEB WONDERS ..

If, like me, you drool over websites that are just it-and-a-bit - then you really must go check out WebDesignLedger. It's a long journey - but follow me if you will.

I was reading The Design Files, and saw that Dvize did their site - and on their list of links I found WebDesignLedger. Phew, did you get all that. They have a section on minimal sites, dark sites, pink sites (in keeping with October and Breast Cancer Awareness month) .. and a whole bundle of other links that could keep me entertained for days.

Here are a few of the 1,000's of fancy blogs, WP's and www's that you too can drool over (-:

ps. i'm not sure if I prefer icecream over snogging - I'd rather have the icecream and THEN snog

SURF COAST STYLE ..

A friend of mine (hi Chez) has just realised her dream and bought some land down in Torquay. I'm guessing she may need a local architect and builder - or maybe not - but it did get me thinking about what was available down this neck-of-the-woods. I found quite a few actually, but this firm, SEELEY ARCHITECTS, have quite a few fantastic homes on their web, so I thought I would post some.

I imagine the views from these homes dotted along the coast would be stunning - but I also imagine with interiors like these, the owners may be too busy admiring their homes to notice.

ABSTRACT ART ..

Don't you just love these!! I would love a large one of the red one on my wall. They are from the blog of Dana Chabino, an artist in Witchita in the US (how cool would it be to say 'I live in Witchita' - it sounds so smooth). The ones here are only small @ 4" x 4" - but Dana has done that so shipping is FREE worldwide. With a new painting posted each day, go visit the blog and check out the other works.

OUTDOOR UPDATE ..

Do you like my little squiggle .. so NOT an illustrator!!

Excuse the misplaced furniture around the yard ..

Hi everyone. Hope you all had a fantastic weekend.

Just thought I would post a little update on the new outdoor room. We are gradually getting there. Very excited to be starting the deck next week - which will be fun. Well, fun to look at and see it going up .. I am sure the Mr's back won't find it fun. I am also posting a little piccie of where I sit and work everyday .. my little studio. It's light and roomy and ALL MINE. The kids come out and draw on the floor while I work .. and love to pretend to type like me (which, depending on how much sleep I have had varies from quite fast to rather slow). In the old days I used to be a typesetter - where a font was really a font .. a little glass disk that you inserted into this oversized machine. Back then I typed really fast .. but I guess, back then I did a lot of things fast (-:

SHORE THING ..

Found this little doozy of a house on the other side of the bay. It's in Shoreham - No. 1 Nelson Street - and is definately my kind of home. Pity I wasn't able to download the external image of the house - but for some reason my computer must be tired of me dragging pics here and there and typing, typing, typing ..

It obviously needs a major reno - and I've painted those darn rough hewn ceiling boards before and not really sure I could do again .. and the fact that it is $2.6m - so I might have to just skip buying it this week. Any other takers???

I LOVE ITALY ..

Just reading through my new mags (Urbis - always fantastic for great designs/designers etc) and also the Australian Vogue Living. Being a graphic designer I guess I always tend to note the nice designed ads as much as the stylish homes and fantastic products. One such ad by Baxter Shop (link) has the most beautiful and desirable armchairs. I'm guessing they are ultra expensive (and rightly so too) .. so perhaps I might need to get a tattslotto ticket this weekend and see if I can win. If I did I would buy them (-:

GRAND DESIGNS ..

Last night, the Australian version of the original UK 'Grand Designs' aired on TV - but, alas for me, it was on PAY TV so I missed it. It's not that we don't want to pay the additional money to see great series like these (and many more) - it's just that where we live we don't have cable access. Hohum.

Anyway. Where was I? As part of the series, a photographer was hired to shoot 'stills' of the homes .. for PR etc afterwards I am assuming. Well, I was super excited to see it was Rhiannon Slatter. Remember I got to work with her a few months ago. Sneaky isn't she that she didn't tell me. These shots are so lovely that I don't even feel bad that I missed the actual show.

ps. just re: yesterday's post. I think perhaps my top 10 blogs might have appeared that I was picking favourites and that I don't like any other blogs. it was really just to let any particular person who may actually visit my blog know about ones that I think are really cool. i wasn't playing favourites. i wasn't trying to upset anyone. it has been stressing me for the last day and I am thinking it was rather stupied of me. will you all forgive me????

BE STILL MY BEATING HEART ...

these 2 (above & below) are my all time fav's

oh, this one above is groovy too (kinda like my LINKED umbrella???)

I found this etsy shop a while ago and realised I was yet to do a post. These gorgeous cushions are from an Australian who lives between here and Thailand .. Sarah Robinson. She is an Industrial and Graphic designer - and she has put together this amazing array of stylish cushions (and she also does a few napkins as well). These are my favourites - but if you go to her BE STILL shop I'm sure you will find ones you like too.
